UPDATES ON GRIFFIN AND EUROS.

Transblawg provides follow-ups on a couple of stories mentioned earlier here on Languagehat. In July, I described Peter Griffin's struggles to save his bilingual edition of the Catalan novel Tocats pel foc (Touched by Fire) by Manuel de Pedrolo from being pulped; I am happy to report that he has ransomed 490 copies and is selling them at half price. And the silly business of "how many euro?" has been much ameliorated by an updated EU style guide: "Always use figures with units of measurement denoted by symbols or abbreviations: - EUR 50 or fifty euros." Nice to be able to pass on some good news.

I have never worked out how to do this trackback stuff, which I should have done recently; I do enable it. Another case of RTFM, I suppose.

Your trackback appears to work fine -- there are trackbacks on both the entries I linked to. Unfortunately, there are two each, which means every time I save the entry it tracks back again, which is annoying; I don't know if you can delete the repeated ones or not. Anyway, no problems at your end. (Of course, I should enable trackback myself, which I keep saying I'll do one day soon.)

OK, thanks. I knew I enabled it.

I will delete one of the trackbacks.
