I know nothing about this, but I want to commend you for referring to Farsi as "Persian". All the Iranian-Americans I know refer to the language as "Persian". Of course, they refer to themselves as "Persian" too.

Not a mistake at all -- most people refer to it as Farsi these days. But there's a contingent of Iranians that objects to the term.
